Living without night. Having spent time in Tromso, Norway during the midnight sun I can imagine this. I can really imaging moving from pole to pole and spending my entire life in the daylight. For what, you might ask? Just because I can imagine it.
Whom will lead people to move from pole to pole spending most of their life in the daylight? What provisions will have to be made? How will they sustain their existence? How will they be environmentally friendly? These are questions that have to be answered.
To establish staging points to support bipolar life it has been suggested that the South Shetland Islands in the southern hemisphere and Longyearbyen, Svalbard in the northern hemisphere become our bases.
Has anyone ever said 'Have A Good Day!' to you? Probably. Now, extrapolate that to living most of your life in the daylight. Moving from pole to pole in the extended daylight thereof. A new age of enlightenment has come into our grips due to modern transportation technology. Cultural richness is manufactured. Have our provincial cultures reached their apex? Or are we on a dawn of the birth of a global culture. Welcome to planet earth, 'Have A Good Day!'
